Lucknow, July 21 : A five-member delegation of City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar Campus I left for England today to participate in the month long ‘International Children’s Camp’. The members of delegation were bid farewell by their parents and teachers at Charbagh Railway Station prior to their departure. The delegation comprises four students namely Tavisha Singh, Adhiraj Awasthi, Nallajarla Manjushree and Atharva Singhal led by Mrs Meenu Sharma, teacher of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I. This information was given by the Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr Hari Om Sharma. Mr Sharma informed that this international camp is being organized from 22 July to 18 August in London, UK, under the auspices of Children’s International Summer Villages (CISV), England, in which several student delegations from different countries are participating. Besides, Junior Counsellors of 15 to 17 years of age are also joining this camp to act as intermediaries between the adults and the children of various countries. During this month-long camp, the host staff and the leaders comprehensively plan activities to inspire the participants to build cross cultural friendships in multilingual settings.
Mr Sharma informed that CMS sends its students to CISV camps to give them a global platform which will help bridging the cultural gaps and facilitate a broader understanding in the company of students of foreign countries. The camp also helps in inculcating in them a feeling of oneness and a rich interaction with mutual friendship and unity. Mr Sharma informed that during the International Children’s Camp, children will be provided food, stay, games, tour to historical places and medical assistance etc.
